Paola De La Cruz

Paola De La Cruz

Physical Therapy Aide

Paola was raised in Brownsville, TX and graduated from UTSA in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Her path to physical therapy began after a serious car accident in 2017 left her with a chronic back injury. When she became a patient at Surge Mobile Physical Therapy, the individualized care and support she received inspired her to pursue this field herself. She is now working toward applying to Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs.

As a Physical Therapy Technician at Surge, Paola brings both her academic background and personal experience as a patient into every session, striving to help others feel supported, understood, and empowered-one day at a time.

She’s grown deeply appreciative of the small, repetitive exercises that rebuilt her strength-movements that eventually allowed her to return to running and daily activities. She believes every patient’s recovery is unique, and that empathy, encouragement, and consistency are key to helping people reach their goals.

Outside of work, she enjoys running, being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and completing two half marathons each year-a reminder of the power of perseverance and rehabilitation.
