Hugo was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. He graduated in 2014 from The University of Texas at Brownsville with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He attended The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2020.

While earning his doctorate degree, he offered pro bono physical therapy in St Vincent’s Clinic for the under-insured population. He also collaborated with occupational therapy students while serving on a mission trip in Guatemala. He recently became a Certified Dry Needling Specialist and plans to further his education by earning a Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Therapy. When not in the clinic, Hugo enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his family.
